ON THE LEFT SITE THERE IS A "CHAPTER" BUTTON, THERE YOU COULD CHOOSE THE DIFFERENT TRAVEL DAYS!

Thanks to a hand full of TOP Management guys my decision to quit the job was quite easy. Therefore I now have some month time to travel through south america on my little bike. After a short planning period of 2 month i shipped the bike from Hamburg to Valpariso CHILE.

The schedule gives me four weeks to explore the north of CHILE, the north west of Argentina, the south...

The decision between renting a bike or ship the own bike to south America was rather easy. The rental bike was pricewise equal if you have a three week trip. For 2 1/2 month the own bike is "cheaper".

The Shipment was organized by

and the http://www.seafairgroup.com/

The wooden transport box was found - as a used one - on the

Five days left. As most of the equipment is in the bike box. Not much left to do.

Anyway as we travel together on one bike the major issue of the transport is the restriction of the luggage. As south America has a wide variety of climate zones we have to be prepared for minus 15 °C as well as windy rain and warm dry desert climate. With the spare parts, a tent, sleeping bags and cooking equipment the available space for clothe is restricted. So we looked for some advices how to save space:

Day 0 - Saturday November 12th 2011

The journey begins. As Luft Hansa (this is not a typo as the name was like that) stopped the directflight between Nuremberg and Santiago de Chile shortly before the Nuremberg Trials (because of shortage of travellers) i have to take a different route.

Via Frankfurt and Buenos Aires is the way to travel. Roughly calculated it will be a 24 hour trip to Santiago and another 2 hours to get to Valparaiso.

I hope that i have enough time to enjoy a Argentinian Steak...

After 29 hours and two local beers i finally arrived in my tiny little room. Wheather is nice as you can see on the pics.

The Villa Kunterbunt is also nice and the owners are friendly and the children already started a jam session with drums and gitarre for a welcome song.

From the bed i have view to the sea and the sun is shining nice. In the Garden i found two F800GS from Aalen and they just arrived from NZ after 11 month of travelling.

Thats all i could tell you right now - as i have...

As I have to wait for my Bike to come out of the customs i have enough time to explore the city.

Nothing very fancy but nice impressions of the local lifestyle.
